Hey,
Motivational Thursdays, THE DAY I BRING YOU SOME MOTIVATION AND INSPIRATION. I'm hoping you're having a good week and good start to the year. I hope you've started this week feeling fresh and joyful. If not, don't think of it as a bad thing.. after every dark night there's a brighter day..your bright day is on it's way.
This post is actually inspired by my boss and mentor Action Jackson, I did a speaking assembly with him this past Monday and there was one topic that has stuck in my mind which I think I should elaborate on.
'Is your squad, really your squad?' I am always hearing that. 'Squad, this squad that' Fair enough you love your friends but are your friends helping you progress as a person?
I have had my share of bad friends and bad influence, I think this year was the year I matured about it and learned who my real friends are.
'TELL ME WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE, I WILL TELL YOU HOW YOUR FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE'
Many of us don't know how much our friends impact us, your top 3 friends should be the people who motivate you and want the best for you but if you feel your top 3 are a distraction, then you need to think again on whether they're assets or liabilities. I feel there is two types of friends.. the assets or the liabilities.
The assets are the type of friends that will push you and help you get to where you want to go, no they won't always be fun but they will benefit you.
The liability, the distractions I shall say, the people who will keep you in the same spot, if not the same spot.. taking you back. 'If you're in a group of friends that never want to go library, you will adapt the mindset of never wanting to go library'
My Personal Motto is 'have a clear atmosphere for a clear life' My friends are always constantly on my neck and motivating me, they keep me on top of my game and keep me focused, THEY MAKE ME BETTER THAN THE PERSON YESTERDAY - THANK YOU, I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING YOU DO.
So think 'Are your friends an asset or a liability' now I am not telling you to ditch your friends or drop people, but what I am saying is you need to surround yourself with people who are pushing you and not pulling you.
You may be one of those people who feel their friends can't influence you, you will be surprised on how many decisions you make due to peer pressure. Be around people who want the best for you and want you to move forward. If you have a friend thats constantly talking about yesterday rather than planning tomorrow, that shows whether that friend will push you or pull you.
Now ask yourself 'are my friends a liability or an asset?
Have an amazing day and week, simply because you're amazing.
