Motivational Thursdays are here WOT WOT. wait, have you just noticed that its march? HUH WHERE IS THE YEAR GOING PLEASE? THURSDAY, THE DAY I BRING YOU SOME MOTIVATION AND INSPIRATION. I'm hoping you're having a good week. I hope you've started this week feeling fresh and joyful. If not, don't think of it as a bad thing.. after every dark night there's a brighter day..your bright day is on it's way
The reality of life is not everyone will like you and that's the honest truth however you are not built to please everyone but you are built to build YOUR empire with the bricks they throw at you.
It took me a long time to realise this, a lot of the time I was trying to please everyone but I realised, we are all like Marmite - either they like you or they don't but don't take it personal, the most IMPORTANT thing is that you love yourself.
In some of my blogs I will start to do story telling as I feel story telling is the best way to get a message across and I also work with the best hip hop story teller there is Alim Kamara.
There is this one story that Alim told me that I feel everyone needs to hear.
There was a farmer who had an old donkey, the old donkey fell into a empty well and began to scream and cry, the farmer ran over to well to see that his donkey was stuck. The well was very deep and the farmer thought there was no point of carrying the donkey as it was heavy and old, he thought it was the time to let the donkey go. The farmer then started calling the villagers to bury the donkey, as the villagers were pouring dirt into the well - the donkey would shake it off and step on the dirt, after a while the donkey reached the top of the well and the villagers and farmers were SO SHOCKED. The farmer then tried to approach the donkey, the donkey skipped off gracefully.
There will be times when strangers and people you love will bring you down, they will throw bricks at you what I mean by bricks is the negative crap 'OH, you can't do that - it's impossible' 'you can't do that, you look stupid' Bricks are heavy and when they are thrown at you, they hurt but you have to have the mentality of the donkey - SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP ON IT. Each time someone tries to break you, shake you or put you down - shake that vibe off and step above it. You FEED of positivity BUT you BUILD from negativity.
NEVER LET ANYONE BRING YOU DOWN. WITH SUCCESS COMES NEGATIVE COMMMENTS.
Building your empire won't be easy, trust me it'll be hard but it'll be worth it because you'll love the feeling knowing YOU built that and you'll also love the feeling of proving other people wrong.
When you build your empire, build with the people around you. IF the people around you are not helping you build OR you're not helping them build then there's no reason for them to be involved with the destination if they can't even be there for the journey.
As life goes on, the bricks get bigger but that's just a bigger empire to own..
It's your choice, EITHER YOU REIGN YOUR EMPIRE OR GET RAINED ON.
There's two reasons I done this post - number one.. There's two girls that I absolutely love who had bricks thrown at them recently, they were able to shake it off and rise above it. They were knocked down with negativity relating to something they love and they stepped above it and built the best empire ever! Proud of you Kim and Sophie!
Number Two is my mentor, my inspiration and big brother figure Alim Kamara - this man is such a great role model to have, I will forever be grateful for his presence, he is changing lives left, right and center- if you think my blog is good, YOU REALLY NEED TO DOWNLOAD HIS APP IT IS JUST MOTIVATION/INSPIRATION/FUN/LIFE all in ONE app. You're probably thinking how? yeah so am I, I don't know how he does it
