Motivational Thursdays are BACK.. I know, i know.. it's been a long time but this break was needed in order for me to provide you amazing new content. I'm hoping you're having a good week. I hope you're feeling fresh and joyful. If not, don't think of it as a bad thing there's 3 other days to go and after every dark night there's a brighter day..your bright day is on it's way.
During this break away from my blog, I have actually been using it to sit down and reevaluate my life. I personally feel reevaluation is important, you need to check yourself before someone else does. I love motivating you guys and helping others to the best of my ability however University did put me in a situation where I had to be selfish in order to be selfless.
Before you can help anyone else, please make sure you're in the right place to help them first. BE SELFISH. The word 'Selfish' is considered to be bad in most peoples books however in order for you to truly help others, you need to help yourself first and make sure you're fit enough too. I am not telling you to be totally selfish that you don't care about anyone else, the type of selfishness I am talking about is when you put yourself first, so you can then help others too.
I personally believe there is two types of selfishness, there is the spiteful selfishness where you act selfish in order to cause pain and be spiteful to someone else or there is the selfless selfishness, this selfish act is when you have to put yourself first before you can help others.
I feel sometimes we are scared to put our own needs first, thinking they will hurt someone else, but at the end of the day WEALTH IS HEALTH. I will scream that all day, everyday.
IF YOU'RE NOT WEALTHY MENTALLY, YOU WILL NEVER BE HEALTHY PHYSICALLY.
When you're empty you have nothing to give, so why be selfless when you haven't worked on something to give? Make sure you're keeping your mindset in check, this is so important, you can never correct someone if you're not correct yourself. Through being selfish you're learning how to deal with yourself, once you've learnt how to deal with yourself and your habits.. you're fine to go and help someone deal with their own.
YOU DESERVE to know yourself, love yourself and to have space.
Through making yourself happy, you truly learn the meaning of happiness, through learning the meaning of happiness you realise you want others to feel it to. Through being selfish, you learn the art of selflessness you learn how important it is to give love to others because you learn how important it is to receive it.
commit to yourself first before you think about ANY other commitments.
This is how I look at it, there will be a time where you will need to pick between giving someone fish straight away or taking up a fishing lesson for yourself. take up the fishing lesson.. you can always teach someone else to fish after you've learnt,, so they can fish for life but you can't always give someone fish after they've finished eating it. fish can run out but the ability to teach fishing doesn't.
